How to make a glass or stand-holder for storing toothbrushes with your own hands?

In the modern world, almost every person cannot imagine his life without a toothbrush. And this is not surprising, because this accessory is designed to care for the oral cavity. On the shelves of many stores you can see a wide range of all kinds of devices: from the simplest to the electrical ones. And many will decide, well, why choose? Purchase the product and use it for its intended purpose. Also, choosing toothpaste is a very responsible task, as is choosing a cup for storage. A glass for toothbrushes is a container and “sanctuary” for an accessory.

How to properly store a brush

Often, in the bathroom we can see the following picture: toothbrushes are in a cup, in close contact with each other, that is, they are in contact. This is not correct and, moreover, it is dangerous for the health of the teeth and oral cavity. In this position, brushes are simply an ideal environment for the proliferation of bacteria and germs.

Also no less dangerous are cups that are equipped with holes for individual brushes. But this is not salvation either. This choice will not protect your brushes from germs and bacteria.

It is better to pay attention to a separate glass for toothbrushes, or rather for one brush. It is advisable to buy as many containers as there are members in the family, so that each of them has an individual container.

It is better to store one single brush in one container, and the toothbrush cup itself should be washed daily.

But it is important to remember that with a shared bathroom, you need to keep the brush closed and as far away from the toilet as possible. The distance should not be less than 2 meters.

Necessary materials

To make such convenient cups for the bathroom, I needed to prepare the following materials:

  1. A piece of wood (you can choose the size yourself depending on how many cups you need).
  2. Glass Mason jars. I used 3 pieces (one for each of my babies). Here you can also proceed from your own needs.
  3. Clamps - one for each jar.
  4. Drill.
  5. Screws.
  6. Metal rings.
  7. Screwdriver.
  8. Paint. You can also use stain.
  9. Sandpaper.
  10. Wax paper.

Benefits of toothbrush storage cups

The bathroom can rightfully be considered an icon of cleanliness and beauty. The smallest elements of decor and furnishings should be comfortable, convenient and attractive in appearance. If toothbrushes and toothpastes are dumped in one ugly pile, and various things are lying around, then a general impression of the owners is created. In this case, the oral hygiene accessory simply does not dry out, which has a beneficial effect on the growth of bacteria. And this is a direct path to the development of the inflammatory process.

This only says one thing, that a glass for toothbrushes is not just a room decoration, but also a guarantee of safety. A properly selected or made glass will help avoid the proliferation of harmful bacteria that harm the oral cavity.

Thanks to its attractive appearance, the toothbrush tumbler can liven up any bathroom decor. It can be made in a forged style, or painted and pressed, it all depends on your desires and preferences. You can also choose a children's option that can amuse even the most fastidious baby.

To add charm to the bathroom, you can choose two identical glasses, but it is better to use one of them as a vase for flowers. And the second glass can be used as a stand for feminine accessories: brushes, pencils, etc.

What should a glass be like?

A glass for toothbrushes is an important bathroom attribute. Many will say that this is just a trifle that should not attract attention and the choice of which should not be focused on. But sometimes even a small thing can brighten up even a “lifeless” interior.

Various materials are used in the production of stands for brushes and pastes. It can be ceramic, polyresin, porcelain or acrylic product. It is important that the material is completely environmentally friendly. For example, if there is a small child at home who has just learned to walk and is interested in everything, then you should exclude glass objects or crystal items that are easily broken. It is better to pay attention to plastic cups.

If we talk about the design plan, you can choose a hanging or tabletop version. The tabletop glass for toothbrushes is equipped with a special holder, which is made of metal or a glass glass. This is the most convenient option because the stand is easy to remove and wash.

Every person knows that a brush is an individual hygiene item. And many experts argue that everyone should have their own glass for toothbrushes. This is, of course, inconvenient, but aesthetically speaking, it is very acceptable. This is why many companies produce items equipped with special holes for brushes. They may also have holes for paste.

Bathroom Storage Ideas

There are hooks on sale that screw into a hard surface; this idea for storing towels will certainly come in handy. Screw them into a wooden plank and you can hang textiles so that they are always at hand.

If you have a treated board, attach it to the wall. Glass jars will come in handy. Wash them, remove labels. Put on metal clamps, which must first be attached to the board with self-tapping screws on one side.

Here you can store glasses, cotton pads, cotton swabs, cosmetic brushes and other small items that will now never get lost.

If you have small metal baskets, they will also create a convenient storage section. They can be placed one on top of the other, if this is not provided, then each is attached to the wall. Roll up the towel, tie the cloth napkins with a ribbon, and place the toilet paper in another basket. This is the order you will achieve in the bath.

Baby holders

Do children need holders for brushes and toothpaste? Of course they are necessary, especially if there are little picky people in the family. The child is unlikely to remember that he needs to brush his teeth every day with a brush and toothpaste. And if an adult reminds you of such a need, the baby will still not try. And I really want at least a little independence from the child. What should parents do in this case?

To make a procedure like brushing your teeth more attractive, you need to lure your child or buy a special fun stand for brushes and toothpaste. You can do it yourself, just have at least a little imagination. The child will know that this is his personal glass for his own brush. !

Often, children's holders are made of artificial stone, which is called polystone. These are comfortable, practical and attractive coasters, made in an original children's style. You can also choose the desired drawing, for example, a cartoon character.

DIY options

Your own decorated cup

In order to make a beautiful decorated toothbrush glass with your own hands, you will need the following materials:

  • An elongated container made of any material, preferably with a lid;
  • PVA glue;
  • Acrylic paint;
  • Napkin, preferably decoupage;
  • Glue gun;
  • Little things for design: beads, shells, pebbles or coins, whatever you like;
  • Coarse sand;
  • Several brushes.

First, we need to paint the container with white acrylic paint and the lid blue. Then the container should dry. Then we take napkins and remove the top layer from the drawing itself. We apply the drawing to the container and cover it on top with a layer of PVA glue.

Let the container dry again. After our future glass for toothbrushes, and possibly toothpaste, has dried, we paint it with stripes. You can use masking tape to make nice, even stripes. But many people prefer curved lines, which look very original. Next, you need to warm up the gun, and then use it to glue the glass itself to the lid. It is important to remember that the cup is glued to the inside of the lid, not the outside. That is, the lid just needs to be turned over. This is necessary so that the container can be conveniently decorated with sand and other decorative elements. Next, the entire surface is covered with coarse sand. It is better to do this in small sections with warm glue.

Further, the whole matter depends on the imagination of the inventor. Some people wrap twine around part of the glass, others choose shells lined in an even layer around the entire perimeter. BUT it is better to decide on the varnish coating in advance, that is, it is advisable to apply it on top of the decor or before decoration.

"Marine" option

Every person who has been to the sea or the beach tries to bring home a sea or river “gift” - a shell, and sometimes even a lot of shells. Often these shells just sit in a box and are covered with a thick layer of dust.

It would be advisable to use the shell for a good cause, namely as a decoration for a glass or a holder for brushes. This decoration can be used to decorate an ordinary plastic glass that has a rough surface. If you only have a flat and smooth glass at hand, then use sandpaper and simply rub the surface of the product.

The surface of the cup must be covered with small stones or bottle fragments. To do this, the surface is coated with glue, and then stones are applied, which must be carefully pressed for several seconds.

Next, you can start decorating the stand with shells. Apply superglue and arrange the decorations so that they touch.

In this case, you will need a large amount of glue to keep the shells on the cup. After gluing, it is advisable to press the shells firmly so that they and the glue adhere. It is important to ensure the neatness and appearance of the holder.

This glass for toothbrushes and toothpaste will remind you of those days spent on vacation for many days. In the same style you can make stands for flowers, pencils or brushes, only your imagination is important.

Original accessory from a bottle

A good housewife won't even leave a plastic bottle unattended! From such a product you can build a useful item that will be useful in the household. For example, a stand for brushes or paste.

To make such a cute item, you need to stock up on the following materials:

  • plastic bottle;
  • nail polish of any color (you can use several);
  • tube of PVA glue;
  • small beads for decoration.

It is advisable to use smooth containers rather than rough and convex ones. But, if there is none, then any one that is not large in size and not wide will do.

The neck is cut off from a plastic bottle. And the workpiece is rinsed with ordinary running water and wiped dry. Next, take any chosen varnish and draw a pattern. There is no need to decorate the entire surface of the stand with patterns; you can do this in separate areas.

Then you need to carefully weight the bottom of the bottle, because plastic is a lightweight material that simply won’t stand even with the slightest weight. You can use stones (small ones) or just glue that is poured into the bottom. It will take up to 5 minutes to dry.

Then we move on to the beads. And in the end, an attractive and original holder is ready! After the glue has completely dried, only beads and nothing else can be seen at the bottom.

Stand for toothbrushes made of plastic bottles | master sergeich

Hello - hello everyone!

Today we will make a beautiful and convenient stand for toothbrushes! Since glasses are no longer relevant, they are a thing of the past, so to speak.

For production we will need:

  • Plastic bottles;
  • Hacksaw for metal;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Hot melt adhesive;
  • Stationery knife;
  • Scissors;
  • Aerosol paint;
  • Braid.

Step 1.

We take a one and a half liter plastic bottle and cut off the upper, conical part with scissors. Then, cut off the bottom of the bottle. Look carefully at the photo: here is an important aspect - you need to cut off the lower part so that it continues the bend of the conical (upper) part of the bottle. Therefore, a bottle of this particular shape is perfect for this craft.

Step 2.

Apply hot glue to the inner surface of the lower (wide) part of the cone and glue it to the lower part.

Step 3.

Now we need a five-liter plastic bottle. We take a hacksaw and saw off the neck of the bottle, leaving a little straight part of it after the cap (3-5 millimeters). We perform the same procedure with two bottles with regular necks. After that, we treat the sawed areas on the necks with sandpaper, removing shavings and sharp edges.

Step 4.

We attach the necks to the side, conical part of the previously obtained vessel and trace them in the places you need with a marker, thereby marking the places for gluing them.

Step 5.

Using a stationery knife, cut out the intended holes and glue the necks into them using hot glue.

Step 6.

Having previously degreased the surface of the stand, paint it.

Step 7

After the paint has dried, you can decorate it with braid.

That's it, now you can remove the glasses for toothbrushes from the bathroom, replacing them with this wonderful stand!

Thank you all for your attention!
